ENTERTAINERS INI Kamoze and Sizzla, two of reggae's best known international acts, must consider themselves fortunate after surviving a two-vehicle collision in the United States on Friday afternoon.

Kamoze's Lexus LX470 was reportedly badly damaged in the accident, which occurred at about 3 p.m., according to a source close to the entertainer.

Also in the vehicle were producer Phillip "Fattis" Burrell and lighting engineer Scott Brinson. The four men suffered only minor injuries.

Kamoze, 42, who spends a lot of his time in Los Angeles, California, was reportedly in the U.S. west coast city recording. The other three were in Los Angeles for Sizzla's concert, which was scheduled for yesterday. Kamoze began his recording career in 1983 with "Trouble Yuh a Trouble Mi".

Late in 1992, Ini and longtime friend Sipoh, linked up with Salaam Remi, a gifted young New York deejay who had blazed a trail of scorching reggae hip-hop mixes, to produce 'Here Comes the Hotstepper', which ruled the R&B charts for weeks.
