THE 'Gospel Train 2000' series of evangelistic concerts rolled into London this weekend. And Tommy Cowan, organiser of the event, says there is a plan to eventually stage a gospel tour of parts of Europe, the American continent and the islands of the Caribbean. "One of our main ambitions is to make it a worldwide event. We are hoping that in time we'll be able to tour the gospel train throughout the various territories.
"Europe will be challenging because residents there are not as gospel-oriented as Americans. But we feel the way to do it would be to start in England and take it to the European continent," said Mr. Cowan.
He said there was a demonic spirit in Jamaica which was waging a spiritual warfare.
"The devil is making himself seen in many areas. As Christians we have to take this message around. We would have lost the battle if we allowed them to control this nation," he declared.
Over the weekend, the Gospel Train got rolling in Birmingham and Tottenham. The England series featured Raymond and Company, Tony Rich, Liquid Light, Junior Spencer, Prodigal Son, Carlene Davis and Papa San.
According to Mr. Cowan, Jamaica had great potential as a tourist destination for Christians.
"We are believed to have the largest number of churches per square mile. That says that we are a worshipping country. People in the country genuinely believe in God and as such we can get other people with similarly strong convictions to come here," he said.
