Sean Paul blows
up at Hot'97
Sean Paul, the first featured dancehall act on the annual HOT 97 Jams annual stage show, was in awesome form at the event.
"It was a great show. I opened the show, and the crowd response was awesome. I did songs such as Deport Dem and Hot Gal Today, both of which are getting great airplay on HOT 97, and then I went into 'Infiltrate'. I also used a piece of Big Pun's intro, and said big up to all the Puerto Rican and Caribbean people in the house, and the place went wild. I also had salsa dancers, and pyrotechnics on the show," Sean Paul said.
Backstage, Sean Paul rubbed shoulders with such music industry heavyweights as Big Daddy Kane, Puff Daddy, Busta Rhymes, and Aaliyah.
Ward 21 for Lotto ad
The dynamic dancehall crew, WARD 21, is reportedly being courted by the Jamaica Lottery Company to do promotional work for its lottery game.
"The Jamaica Lottery Company approached us last week through our booking agents, Solid Agency to do an ad to the best of our ability. It's a song vibe, and 'Sukku' ( a member of the group) is going to use one of WARD 21's songs, 'Bloodstain', changing up the words to promote the lottery. We're going to line up a skit for the song, we're in the process of doing all that now, and then the JLC will listen to it, and we'll go from there," Baby G, manager of WARD 21, said.
