The Church's witness

THE EDITOR, Madam:

IT SEEMS difficult to believe that the Church would become an advocate for the legalisation of psychoactive drugs, which are addictive, and tend to be abused.

The Christian clergy should be made aware that the church is a standard bearer of morality, even for atheists, who still obey the 'Ten Commandments', through the 'Laws of the Land', without realising it.

Speaking as an average person who is not exactly saintly, the church should realise that it is a beacon of hope, in a world increasingly shrouded in the 'fog of immorality', and that by even vaguely appearing to give in to what is evil, they dim that beacon.

I am etc.,
