'Male Face of the Millennium'

Marlon Atkinson (right) holds his trophy after winning the 'Manhunt Jamaica Male Of The Year' finals at Le Meridien Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Sunday night. At left is Horace Walker, first runner-up, while at centre is Fabian Allen, second runner-up.

TWENTY-ONE OF Jamaica's finest young men were selected Saturday night at the Hilton Hotel as finalists in the '2000 Male Face of the Millennium' pageant, staged by Pulse.

Twenty-seven contestants paraded before an enthusiastic audience which cheered the contestants on to do their best.

The selected finalists are: Winston Dawes, Richard Pasley, Marvin Davis, Bryan Wilson, Dennis Brown, Anthony Choy, Brian Clarke, Nathan Vassell, Terel Brown, Sheldon Gordon, Jerry Chambers, Chris Maxwell, Ferdinando Wallace, Scott Wilson, Garfield Cooke, Lincoln Bromfield, Ali Thelwell, Gary James, Albert Brown, Nahgebi Miller and Neil Parchment.

The number of entries and the calibre of contestants forced Pulse to move the finals of the competition to the ballroom of the Hilton Hotel. This will now take place alongside the finals of the 'Supermodel of Jamaica' and 'Jamaica Fashion Model' pageants on Saturday, July 29 at 8:30 p.m.

Current 'Male Face of the Millennium' is Alex Blake, US-based national football player, college student and budding international model.

Saturday night's event also included an appearance by the finalists in the 'Supermodel of Jamaica', 'Jamaica Fashion Model' and 'Petite Fashion Model' pageants, to the delight of their supporters. The evening also saw exciting performances by the Jonkanoo Lounge's Latin Dancers.
