  • Diana King still classy

    International pop/reggae performer, Diana King, was in the island last weekend for the International Reggae Day celebrations.

    She was looking as classy as ever and has not lost that childlike spirit which has endeared so many people to her. She said she was in the process of making her third album for Sony Records.

    Unfortunately, Diana said the second album did not do as well as her first effort and she was now committed to ensuring that the third effort does well.

  • Bounty Killer's $33m mansion

    Sources say ace DJ Bounty Killer is building a mansion, somewhere on the outskirts of Kingston. The project is said to be costing about $33 million and the 'Warlord' is personally involved in every way.

  • Marley on the Wall of Fame

    Bob Marley was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Wall of Fame in California. He was listed among such celebrities as Robert Wagner, Peter Fonda, Winona Ryder and Al Jarreau.

    The Bob Marley Foundation recently received the Trailblazer's Award from the Jamaica Exporters Association for 1999. The award was for the Marley family's contribution to the promotion of Jamaica through music.

  • Sean Paul meets music greats

    Sean Paul, the first dance-hall act on the annual HOT 97 Jams stage show, was in awesome form at the event.

    "It was a great show. I opened and the crowd response was awesome," he said.

    Backstage, Sean Paul rubbed shoulders with such music industry heavyweights as Big Daddy Kane, 'Puff' Daddy, Busta Rhymes and Aaliyah.

  • Another storm is brewing

    Buccaneer intends to storm back onto the musical scene after taking a hiatus to work on the production side of the business.

    "For the past six months, I've been doing production, but now I am back as an artiste and I intend to 'done' the place," he said.

    Buccaneer has a single on the Orgasm rhythm called Slow Motion; a song for Jeremy Harding called Cramp and a combination with Bounty Killer, Bun Dem.

  • TOK's new video

    The group, TOK's first video for the single, Ginseng on the Orgasm rhythm began airing last Friday on local television. It features Lexxuses, beach shots and 'fly honeys', produced by Ras Kass. This is the group's first video, although members appeared in General Degree's 24 Hours as featured artistes.
