"I HAVE always been a little confused about this church thing," says 26-year-old Nicola Barrett. I graduated from a Roman Catholic high school, and worshipped at a Baptist church."
Now the legal secretary reckons that she has solved the quandary.
"I church-hop. Every week, I go to either Fellowship Tab or Wildman Street on Tuesday nights, or the Brethren church Swallowfield on Saturdays, and Holy Cross church on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. A lot of my professional friends go to different churches, and they invite me to their charismatic services. So I go to whichever, depending on how I feel."
Karen Simmonds also considers church-hopping as a way of dealing with her spiritual dilemma.
The 23-year-old secretary says she used to be a Seventh Day Adventist -- for a time -- "but they were kinda too strict, and I found it easier to worship on a Sunday anyway, so I went to my mother's Anglican church, but they were too boring, so I went to a Church of God which was more lively, they had a band and everything."
She adds: "I know lots of people who try different churches till they find the one that caters to their needs."
