Another award for Beenie Man

Beenie Man

FOR THE second consecutive year, Beenie Man has been nominated as the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' (ASCAP) Top Reggae Artiste. A letter to that effect has been sent to the artiste's manager and head of Shocking Vibes Records, Patrick Roberts, by Marilyn Bergman, president and chairman of the board of ASCAP. It noted that Beenie Man was the top reggae artiste for 1999 and Tanto Metro and Devonte will be recognised as leading reggae artistes last year as well. The ASCAP awards will take place on Wednesday, June 7, at the Hammerstein Ballroom at 311 West 34th Street in New York City at 6:30 p.m The event will be hosted by Def Soul recording artistes Kelly price and Montell Jordan. Roberts said there is joy in his camp all around. "Beenie Man has been there before, but to see Tanto Metro and Devonte joining him for such a prestigious award is something really special," he continued.
