Seido pair perform well
The father and son pair of Peter and Dominic Brooks display three of the trophies they won at the recent US/Caribbean Karate Challenge in Miami.
A TWO-MEMBER team from Seido Karate Jamaica returned to the island on Tuesday night from Miami where they successfully competed in the US/Caribbean Karate Challenge held at the Coral Reef Senior High school last Saturday.
The team, consisting of the father and son pair of Peter and Dominic Brooks, garnered four trophies, competing in the senior men's black belt and the juniors 9-10, brown belt divisions.
Ten-year-old Dominic placed second in sparring and third in the kata competition while the older Brooks placed fourth in kata and won the sparring in his division. He was also a beaten finalist in the men's grand championship for fighting.
The tournament which was open to all styles, featured teams from several Florida martial arts institutions, along with other entrants from Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean.
