A good cartoon
THE EDITOR, Madam:
KINDLY ALLOW me to congratulate Las May for his apt description of Jamaica as it appeared in The Gleaner, May 1, 2000, depicting a serpent killing itself by injecting its venom into its own body.
Anyone who does not see Jamaica's dilemma in that light is either being "hoodwinked", sadly deluded or has his head, like the proverbial ostrich, buried in the sand.
That is a fitting description of Jamaica today, Bravo! Las May, your description is worth a thousand words.
I am, etc.,
BASIL THOMPSON,
