Season kicks off with KO
WESTERN BUREAU - THE ST. JAMES Football Association's 1999-2000 season kicks off tomorrow with the start of the President's Cup Knock Out featuring the top six teams from last season's Hart/Daswani and the two promoted Division two teams.
The opening double header will see Violet Kickers facing Altowbar in the feature match at 6 p.m. following a curtain-raiser between the national Under 17 team and a Seba United Under 20 team. The Under 17 players are preparing for next month's World Youth Championships in New Zealand.
The other teams taking part in the President's Cup are - Hot And Spicy and Tornado who were both promoted from the Sandals Division Two, Seba United, Juniors, Mt. Salem and Catherine Hall.
The competition continues on Sunday with a double header at Jarrett Park, Hot And Spicy facing Tornadoes at 4:00 p.m. followed by Seba taking on Juniors in the 6:00 p.m. feature.
The first round will be completed on Tuesday with Mt. Salem and Catherine Hall meeting also at Jarrett Park.
