Reno shock Wadadah 1-0

WESTERN BUREAU - RENO CARVED out a 1-0 win over Wadadah in their rescheduled Craven A National Premier League contest, on a water-logged pitch at Jarrett Park last night.

Hector Linton scored a well-taken left footer in the 74th minute as the Westmoreland team clawed their way back from ninth place to seventh, level on 11 points with Wadadah but with a better goal difference.

The game had been scheduled as the second of a double at Jarrett Park last Sunday but had to be called off because of the heavy underfoot conditions cause by rainfall. The condition of the field was not much better yesterday as large portions of the field was under water after heavy rains had fallen up until an hour before match time.

Despite the conditions, however, both teams put on a good show although the Montego Bay team should have scored on at least one occasion in each half. Lennox Whittingham, Thomas Grant and substitute Devon Ricketts each had good chances but failed to get by Reno's national goalkeeper Aaron Lawrence.
